Shakira is set to conclude her El Dorado World Tour in Bogota, Colombia on Saturday evening. Prior to that, she graced the groundbreaking ceremony of two new schools – one in Cartagena and another in her hometown Barranquilla. These projects will be financed by Shakira’s own Barefoot Foundation (Pies Descalzos) which is already running three schools catering to the education of underprivileged children with the assistance of the Barca Foundation.
Shakira, the renowned Colombian singer and philanthropist, was recently invited as a guest of honor at the inauguration ceremony of two schools in her hometown. The construction of these schools has been made possible thanks to the support of her Barefoot Foundation. During the event, Shakira was thrilled to leave her hand and footprints on a cement cornerstone as a commemoration of the occasion. Despite the chilly sensation of the wet cement, the singer smiled and laughed out loud. The artist looked stunning in her off-the-shoulder pink blouse with lace panels and blue jeans. School children at the event welcomed her warmly, and hundreds of others waved posters in her direction.
Putting her best foot forward, the 41-year-old flashed a grin as she dipped her toes into the frigid plaster mixture on the construction site of a new school in Barranquilla, her place of origin.
Shakira’s tour has been going strong since June 3, with the songstress performing a total of 54 shows in 23 different countries. However, her upcoming final show on Saturday is set to be a unique experience as she is set to debut her new track and video for Nada before taking the stage at Parque Simon Bolivar. Shakira gave her 54.2 million fans a sneak peek on Instagram, revealing that the track will be available online right after her performance. In one of her recent performances, the audience erupted into laughter as a man chivalrously held her up while she took off her shoe.
The artist known for her hit song Deja Vu, decided to get down and dirty by pressing her palms into the cement.
She left a lasting impression as she smiled brightly while placing her signature on the foundation of the brand new educational institution. The gorgeous blond was unforgettable.
Shakira was spotted posing with a group of school children while wearing a pretty pink lace off-the-shoulder blouse and jeans. The singer, whose full name is Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll, must be excited to head home to her long-time partner, Spanish soccer star Gerard Piqué, and their two young sons in Barcelona, Spain. The couple has been together since 2011, when they first met during the filming of Shakira’s music video for Waka Waka (This Time for Africa), which was the official song for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. Milan, aged five, and Sasha, aged three, are the pair’s adorable children.
Greeted by a sea of cheerful fans, the hitmaker couldn’t help but flash a smile and wave at the crowd.
